Zootopia Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Barton Bishop's
STILL THE RIVER RUNS Directed by Matthew J. Nichols
"Ain’t no one alive knows what dead feels like," reasons Jesse. Will that stop him and his brother Wyatt from stealing their dead Paw Paw’s body right from under their family’s nose? Will Paw Paw’s spirit be more at peace buried in the land of his old Florida hunting grounds? Will Wyatt, on leave from the War in Iraq, and Jesse, saddled with a mountain of debt and mouths to feed, be able to cross the deepening divide between them? These questions and more are explored in Barton Bishop’s hilarious and moving portrait of two brothers still struggling to swim in an ever-changing river.

Backstage.com Critic's Pick July 01, 2008 By A.J. Mell
Florida playwright Barton Bishop's eccentric two-hander suggests such disparate influences as Mark Twain, the Coen Brothers, and even -- heaven forfend -- Weekend at Bernie's. It's an amusing mix and well suited to the Zootopia Theatre Company, which, on the basis of this production and last year's Professional Skepticism, shows a real affinity for dark-edged, character-driven comedies that leave the audience thinking as well as laughing.

Perhaps you’re one of those people who have long lamented, “If only ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ had been funnier and had starred actors with some chemistry.” Your wait is over.
